Free and outdoors: The music festival in the Schlüterhof of the Humboldt Forum will once again become a vibrant meeting place for sound, rhythm, and culture. Over four weekends, there will be music from all over the world – from Mexican cumbia punk and Kenyan dodo blues to Congolese soukous and Afrofuturist big bands. Japanese folk with Caribbean influences, jazz, hip-hop, and Frafra gospel will also provide boundless, danceable variety.

On twelve evenings – from July 17 to August 9, 2025, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday – the festival invites the audience to musical journeys of discovery that transcend borders and continents.

With 24 live acts and 12 DJ sets, the program ranges from the streets of Mexico to the desert blues of Niger, from the club scenes of Nairobi and Tokyo back to the dance floors of Berlin.

This year, Durchlüften is also proudly collaborating with two visionary festivals: Sauti za Busara in Zanzibar and the XJAZZ! Festival in Berlin. Sauti za Busara is one of East Africa's most renowned music festivals and is committed to promoting East African music and cultural diversity. The XJAZZ! Festival is considered one of Berlin's pioneering festivals, redefining jazz through cross-genre collaborations and global musical exchange.

Artist highlights: Odd Okkodo (Kenya-Germany), Jeano Elong (Cameroon-Germany), Minyo Crusaders (Japan-Colombia), Charif Megarbane (Lebanon-World), Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti & Frank Rosaly (Bolivia/Brazil/Puerto Rico/Amsterdam), KASIVA (Kenya).
