Dear Berliners and Anti-Berliners,
You’re warmly invited to a special afternoon of collective making, food, and celebration hosted by Arts of the Working Class, in collaboration with Dina El-Kaisy Friemuth.
Together, we’ll create T-shirts and tote bags using stencils inspired by messages from the paper and Dina’s practice. We’ll be offering our chests and backs for messages to take into the streets and into hearts. Participants can bring their own garment or use one of ours (purchased from Textilhafen).
The workshop will be part of a larger communal gathering, running alongside casual mingling, long tables, and shared meals by the wonderful Pepe, a resident at our space. The event is open to up to 60 people at a time, and you’re welcome to drop in and out or stay for the full afternoon.
Expect:
- Stencils & spray/roller printing for quick, accessible creation
- Glühwein and warm food prepared by Pepe
- A cozy, communal atmosphere with long tables for eating, making, and mingling
- Opportunities to donate extra T-shirts or tote bags for the AWC collection
- Documentation for a photo/story campaign highlighting everyone’s creations
Suggested donation: €20–25 (covers food, materials, and participation). Payments via QR code, PayPal, or receipt. Donations flexible.
Come, gather, create, eat, and celebrate the year together with art, warmth, and shared gestures of care.
With love,
Arts of the Working Class
